I, too, spoke to Jake today. The letter that Greg will post will give a more complete story of his life in Malawi so far..so I won't write about it. But I do ask that you try to write him. He mentioned that he looks forward to receiving letters. I know it takes time to write a letter, but as phone calls and emails get more seldom, letters are the only way to communicate. If you have the time, please write him. He would love to hear from you.
Posted by sarah at June 1, 2004 04:50 AMALL,
does jake have sheet music for the tunes he likes? I know he has a guitar and a harp out there, but a marley / tosh song book or something? that would be a killer thing to send. I will dupe the songlist we were playing from this weekend donny and send it to africa. music is always a good thing, and has always been hand and hand with agriculture.
hes probably singing "why Im wondering WHHHYYYYY" to his malawi fans as we speak.
mark,
jake would probably love music from you...you know how much he looooves bob marley. if your letters are anything like your emails, i'm sure he would love one of those too! JFK, jk about jk, jk!!
When you say write -do you mean something beyond these postings like a real letter. If so what address should it be sent to?

yes, i mean hand written letters. jake is only able to get to a computer to check this site when he visits mzuzu which isn't very often. unfortunately the same goes for his cell phone. so letters through the mail are the best. i'm sure jake would love to hear from you and i know he is excited about you visiting :)
sarah
could you send me his contact address,I would be really grateful for that...
Thank you
Dear Jake,
I showed Dan your website for the first time today (very impressed, was he). We thought we would write you a little note together. We are currently leaving the homestead on Sand Hill Road for good. Dan wanted to let you know where his new house will be (for future reference). He will be at 202 Spruce Hills, Glen Gardner.
This is dan: "I caught a 12 1/8 lb northern pike from Spruce Run in March. Have you done any fishing in Africa? I still have the fish in the freezer that we caught ice fishing the one day this past winter. We wish you well and think of you often. When I get my new place set up, you are welcome anytime. Signing off. Oh, don't go swimming - look out for crocodiles"
Jake, be happy and well. I am off to Dominican Republic/Haiti in a couple of months, but Dan and I will be checking in with you.
All of our best,
Dan and Beth
hmm..this is quite interesting
